Class Notes

1940s

George Wald ’49, Jefferson City, Mo., and his wife Sydney have been married for 45 years. They recently repeated their marriage vows in Las Vegas in the presence of their children.

1950s

Martha Jean (Frahm) Woods ’54, Boise, recently retired from teaching.

Donald Larson ’57, ’60, Gooding, is married to Lynn Larson, an award-winning artist. Donald retired from his position with the USDA, and is currently the treasurer of his church.

1960s

Joanna Adams ’66, Coeur d’Alene, was recently named as a Paul Harris Fellow in appreciation of assistance given for furthering a better understanding and friendly relations among people of the world.

David Foster ’69, ’74, Stillwater, Okla., has been appointed associate director of the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service.

1970s

Richard Tolmie ’73, Kalama, Wash., is presently doing research on fuels. He was selected for "Who’s Who in American Inventors."

Stacy Winn ’75, Twin Falls, received the Outstanding Agricultural Education Teacher Award for the State of Idaho. She has taught vocational agriculture at the Murtaugh School District since 1976.

Kathleen Walker ’77, Baker City, Ore., is an elementary school principal at Haines and Keathing Elementary Schools.

Thomas H. Carson ’79, Caldwell, has successfully completed the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) Professional Education Program located in Denver. Carson is a financial advisor with American Express Financial Advisors in Caldwell.

1980s

Mark Hubbard ’81, Bonners Ferry, works as a bank manager at First Security Bank.

Scott Collaer ’83, Moses Lake, Wash., is currently working as a salesman for Helena Chemical.

Ken Blakeman ’85, Lewiston, has been named the new general manager of Lewiston Grain Growers, a division of Cenex Harvest States. For the past five years, Blakeman has been a grain merchandiser for Lewiston Grain Growers.

1990s

Tony Noe ’90, Melba, married Neva Christina Gehring of Boise on August 5. Tony farms in the Melba Valley.

Heath Gimmestad ’93, Moses Lake, Wash., works as a farm agronomist for Friehe Farms.

Wendy (Swenson) Stansell ’93, Homedale, is currently teaching second grade at Marsing Elementary and coaching the varsity volleyball team.

Katy (Wollert) Hamman ’94, Wellsville, Utah, recently completed her M.S. in extension education at Utah State University.

Marci Holcomb ’94, Meridian, has been promoted to senior manager of customer care in the DirecTV Boise Customer Care Center.

Roy Schwilke ’95, Hansen, is currently the plant manager of PM Ag Products in Kimberly. He is also a freelance writer working on several projects and books.

Jake Leppert ’96, Kimberly, married Kiz Johnson in September 1997. Their first son, Barak, was born in August of last year, and they are expecting a second child in May 2001.

Lloyd Knight ’96, Boise, is working for the Idaho Cattle Association as the Feeder Council Coordinator for Environmental and Water Quality Issues.

John ’97 & Natalie (Koehler) Martin ’97, Petaluma, Calif., recently had their second daughter, Kelsey Elise. Kelsey, born July 31, weighed in at 9 lb, 13 oz, and was 21 inches long.

Kristina Wilken ’97, Kansasville, Wis., is an inside feed salesperson with Cooperative Plus, Inc. (CPI).

Candi Taylor ’98, Wendell, was recently promoted to quality assurance at the Twin Falls Lamb-Weston facility. She has also completed the PQ Program offered by ConAgra.

Raylee (Johnson) Suta ’99, Browning, Mont., was married to Blaine Suta on June 24 in Cut Bank, Mont.

William W. Guthrie ’38, Emmett, June 25, retired lieutenant colonel. William and his wife, Wilma, established the Wm. W. & Wilma H. Guthrie Endowment for 4-H activities at the University of Idaho.

Mack William Neibaur ’50, Paul, September 9, former vice-chair of Idaho’s Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee.

Mac Parkins ’51, San Diego, Calif., August 26, retired from the USDA Soil Conservation Service.

William R. Ross ’52, Emmett, June 26, retired agronomist for the USDA.

Michael D. Kendall ’78, Emmett, October 22, farmer.

Lisa (Hamilton) Gorsuch ’94, Bellevue, Wash., September 14, worked for the American Red Cross.
