Instant Address Changes for Alumni

College of Agriculture alumni can now update their addresses on-line instantly by logging onto a secure site accessible from the College of Agriculture website. Simply go to http://www.ag.uidaho.edu/alumni and select Change your address from the list of options.

At this secure site you will be prompted for your username and personal identification number (PIN). Your username will be your Vandal number or social security number. The PIN is the same one that recent graduates used to register. The typical computer-generated PIN is your birthday month and date followed by 00, e.g., 122500 if you were born on Christmas. You can call the registrar’s office at (208) 885-6731 if you do not know your PIN or if this procedure does not work.

Once you have access to the site, you can review and update your current information in just a few easy steps. Alumni can also review their email addresses and update them as necessary. This is a free service provided by the UI Alumni Association.

Class of ’90 and ’95 Members Help Recruit Idaho’s Best and Brightest Students

One of the main goals of the College of Agriculture Alumni Association is to assist in recruiting and retaining Idaho’s best and brightest students for the college. The association has been helping the college recruit students through the Ag Alumni Ambassador Calling Program.

The program is quite simple. The college supplies each caller with the phone numbers of three to five high school students in their area. They are given a simple script as well as brochures and information on the UI and the College of Agriculture. The alumni then call the students to "tell the story of the college," talk about their own personal experience at the UI, and answer any students’ questions. They also act as a local contact should the students have questions in the future.

This past spring, members of the class of 1990 and 1995 plus other alumni volunteers called students who were admitted to the UI College of Agriculture but who had not yet registered. Nineteen alumni stepped up to the plate, making calls to more than 79 high school students in Idaho. Of the students that were contacted, over half are currently enrolled and attending the UI College of Agriculture.

According to Tawnya Feldman ’89, the calling program is really very fun and a good way to connect with local high school students. Tawnya helps promote the college in southeastern Idaho. She feels the College of Agriculture gave her a great background and is educationally very competitive.

This two-year-old program is positively impacting the recruitment of Idaho’s high school students to the college.

Change is good, but not for an email address!  You’ll experience a lot of change in life: homes, jobs, relocations.  Why make changing your email address one of them?  The UI Alumni Association is offering a free lifetime email address for <your name> @idahovandals.com. To be eligible, you must have an existing email address with an email service provider; idahovandals.com is an email forwarding service, not an Internet service provider. This is a great option to maintain and distribute just one email address to family, friends, and business associates.
