Foresters usually mark trees
to be left or cut. This usually includes a stump mark, so they know
if a leave or cut tree has been removed. On a pre-commercial thinning,
a detailed prescription, with tree selection and spacing guidelines,
is written into the contract.
You could mark the trees
yourself, depending on how much you know, how much time you have, how
much you want to do on your own, and the unique conditions of the site...
