Larvae are
caterpillars about 35 mm long with light and dark
stripes along the body. The color can vary from
green, tan, or pink to dark brown. Adults are
tan-colored moths. The larva feeds on or burrows
into many above-ground vegetables. Damage is
usually more severe in light soils and
populations are very cyclic. Host plants: corn,
tomatoes, beans, eggplant, cabbage, fruits, peas,
peppers, ornamentals, squash, strawberries.
