Strawberry Root Weevil
Otiorhynchus ovatus (Linnaeus)

Adult weevils are about 5 mm long with a conspicuous curved snout. They are dark brown to black with reddish legs. Larvae are fat, C-shaped grubs, 6 to 7 mm long and have a distinct brown head. Adults feed on leaves, and larvae chew on and tunnel in roots. Host plants: strawberries, caneberries, mint, hops, shrubs, ornamentals.
