The pea aphid is a large aphid, about 3.5 to 4 mm long. The antennae and legs are quite long and slender. This species sucks sap. Injury to lentils, peas, or alfalfa appears as yellowish or stunted plants with some wilting. Reduced yields occur with heavy infestations. The pea aphid is also a vector of several legume virus diseases. Host plants: alfalfa, red clover, peas, lentils, vetch.
