Cowpea Aphid
Aphis craccivora Koch

These aphids are shiny black, 2 to 2.5 mm long, with the first half of the antennae and all of the legs pale yellow or white. Immature forms may be lime green. Damage is caused by large numbers sucking plant sap and weakening plants. Host plants: lentils, alfalfa, clover, beans, cowpeas, dandelions, lambsquarters, mustard, peas.
