Securing the Ranch
The Auen Foundation of Palm Desert, Calif., is giving the property to the university through a multi-year agreement.
The full transfer of the gift depends on both the university’s management of the center and public participation in its activities over the next three years.
We need your help to secure the ranch.
The center must:
• Form research, education and management advisory committees
• Build a herd of 350 to 400 cows
• Gather at least 100 cows from producers
• Establish research projects
• Create an outreach program
• Offer educational activities
• Upgrade facilities at the ranch
• Develop economic models
• Offer marketing strategies
